Group therapy
The following groups are for those who are looking to grow and heal in the messy and genuine presence of others. Showing up for the process of group therapy is a vulnerable and daring act. Many of us come in with all sorts of stories about what it means to belong with and be seen by others; groups bring these past experiences to the forefront, and ask up to rewrite them with new, more authentic ways of being.
This group may be for you if…
you’re part of a blended family
you are multi cultural
you’re transitioning from one phase to the next
you are non binary or gender expansive
you are a middle child
you don’t fit into all the boxes
you are bi-racial
you speak multiple languages
you live in more than one place
you’ve got one foot out the door
you are bi sexual
and so much more
You’ll know this group is for you because it’s a feeling more than it is a box, and that’s what this group is all about.
The in between group is for anyone who feels in between; in between an identity, a place, a group of people. This is for or anyone who is not quite one thing and not quite another, and wants to honor that complexity.
The need for this group is inspired by my inner child, who told a therapist at age 8 that I felt like a ball being bounced between my parents’ homes, pulled in each direction, and never getting to settle or just be. She told me this was normal, and I never went back.
Everyone is in between in some way, at some point or another. But these are the experiences often denied or seen as liminal. They may be liminal or they may not be, but they deserve to be seen and embraced regardless.
The in between group is an in between space where we connect with each other’s unique way of being in the world, to celebrate nuance and find stability in the both/and.
